When your company has databases that contain various levels of confidential information, you need a way to secure them in such a way that only those with the proper identification and credentials can access them. While single factor authentication may work for the lower level databases, you should be using two factor authentication that requires the use of an RSA token as well as the correct username and password in order to gain entry.
The RSA token is a certified cryptographic USB device that contains an individual user's digital certificate or digital signature. In order for a person to gain access to the files that are protected at this level , they must insert the token into the computer and then enter the appropriate username and password, if all three items do not match, access is denied. This type of token can be very useful for those who need to access multiple protected files at the same time as permission will be granted across the board until the token is removed.
