At one point in time the only way you could complete a business deal was in person as everyone involved hand no choice but to physically sign the contract. If all parties could not be present the delays caused by using the mail or a courier service to send the contract back and forth could be costly and frustrating. Now that we have access to the Internet and an e signature, this is no longer an problem.
The E Signature is Legally Binding
For quite a while and e signature was not considered legally binding, but with the latest security protocols in place along with the ENSIGN Act and UETA, when a person signs a contract electronically, it is considered legally binding. If you have to go to court, you will find that an electronic signature is considered as binding as one that has been signed using a pen and paper. This has sped up the process of contract negotiations significantly and has helped businesses get things done in a more timely fashion.
