Using an RSA Token to Verify Credentials

In the modern world we rely on the web for just about everything including every conceivable type of account that is loaded with personal information. In the early days it was considered to be relatively safe to rely on nothing more than a user name and password to verify credentials and grant account access. Today this is no longer the case and many companies are now turning to a two factor authentication system using an RSA token to provide the extra layer of authentication.

The RSA token such as you would receive from Digi-Sign can be in the form of a key fob device or in many cases an application for your iPhone, Smartphone or other portable device. This device provides a constantly changing series of numbers that have a very limited use time. When you go to log into your account you are required to enter your username and password as usual, you will then be prompted to enter the numbers on your RSA token in order to be granted access to your account.
