PKI Is One Part of a Complete Security System

There are different types of security used in computing environments both commercially and privately, which are available through us, here at Digi-Sign. Security is required whenever you access an unsecure network internally or externally, such as intranets or the Internet. PKI or public key infrastructure is one part of a complete security system. There are different features found in this type of infrastructure, which can include certificate authority, registration authority, and a system which generates the certificates. There can also be different directories which are used to hold the generated certificates until they are requested.

PKI Runs in the Background When Accessing Secure Applications

How PKI works is not complicated, and runs in the background when accessing secure applications. For example, when you access a website which uses a secure connection, your computer will send an encrypted message using a public key. The website receives your message and then uses its private key to decode the message. Once the message is validated then the website will either send you a CA, if this is your first time accessing the website, or verify you have the correct CA before granting access.
