Certification Authority Is Used to Manage Security on Networks

Certification authority is one method which is used to manage security on a network. CA is even used when you access different websites which require a secure log in connection. How CA works is by generating a public key when the user requests one in order to decrypt data and other information electronically. When you first connect, your computer sends a request to the registration authority or server where the public keys are held. The server looks to see if you have been authorized to receive the public key, and, if so, then issues a certificate which contains the public key.

Certification Authority Certificates Are Computer Specific

There are trusted certification authority certificates which are automatically included in different operating systems which aids in helping to prevent forged certificates. These certificates are used for accessing different websites over the Internet. There are also CA certificates which can be issued by your organization for accessing data over a virtual private network remotely. The thing to remember with certificates is that they are computer specific. This means you may not be able to access certain types of data or information when you use another computer which does not contain the proper certificate.
