Achieve a Second Layer of Security with Two Factor Authentication

Any of your network systems or online systems will require you to secure them to prevent unauthorized access. One common method used is making users enter in a user name and password when they attempt to access a secure area or resource. However, this method is not fully secure, so you may want a second layer of security. You can achieve this second layer of security by using two factor authentication.

One Method of Two Factor Authentication Uses Digital Certificates

There are different types of two factor authentication methods which you can use to add a second layer of security. The easiest method involves using digital certificates tied to a user’s computer. Since the digital certificates are only held on that person’s computer, they are only able to access secure resources from their computer. If they attempt to log into these resources from another computer, they are denied access.
