Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 [SAS 70] defines the professional standard to be used when conducting a Key Ceremony for a Public Key Infrastructure [PKI] or Certificate Authority [CA] system.
Introducing the SAS 70 Key Ceremony
For compliance reasons, certain CA systems must conduct a Key Ceremony before issuing any Digital Certificates. Trust Centres and Government projects are two examples where a key ceremony may be required in order to comply with local laws or international standards.
