Code Signing

Digi-Codes™ are Code Signing certificates and are used for securing and authenticating:

• Software downloads from the internet
• Executable code on a website
• Signing macros in Word®, Excel®, Access®, etc files

Digi-Codes™ are not a high volume item and most organisations only need one or two each year.

Digi-Code™ is offered in a single Class only: Digi-Code™ Xs and is used for software and code signing.

Securing any on line system with usernames and passwords may not offer the level of protection and security your organisation needs. You improve the security by adding a 'second layer' of protection called 'two factor authentication'. This means adding another method of authenticating your users, on top of the existing username and password access.

Digi-Access™ adds this two factor authentication security and is the most popular and fastest growing certificate we provide currently.

Digi-Access™ certificates are available in the Xs and Xp Classes and are used for cloud based on demand computing, Software-as-a-Service [SaaS], secure web portals, online gaming compliance, financial service (e.g. online banking and broking), etc. In fact, anywhere where a username and password is used to gain access to any application or service using your browser.

Digi-ID™ certificates are most commonly used for identification and digital signature and are single application certificates. A single application certificate is designed to perform a single action like providing identification on an ID card or for digitally signing a document, e.g. a PDF.

If a single Digi-ID™ is required to perform multiple functions (and this isn’t always possible), then a Digi-ID™ Xg is used because the single Digi-ID™ Xg certificate is a multi-application certificate that can be used to perform multiple actions (i.e. both identification and digital signing).

Digi-ID™ certificates are available in Xs, Xp and Xg Classes and are used for digital identification and/or electronic signatures. Digi-ID™ Xs are entry level certificates used for pilot projects, test environments or in small, single application environments only.

Digi-ID™ certificates are very popular when considering EU legislation, workflow systems or indeed anywhere that a digital signature is being used to replace paper based signatures. The reason for this is because digital identity and non-repudiation of transactions is now considered critical. Also, the demand for Machine Readable Travel Documents [MRTD], electronic invoicing and other document signing solutions have underpinned the use of Digi-ID™ certificates.

Digi-Mail™ certificates are available in the Xs and Xp Classes and are used for digitally signing and encrypting email. The practice of signing email is commonly used in healthcare, financial and government environments, where the authenticity of an email is of paramount importance to the organisation.
